Turn a letter into a task

A letter with a deadline needs four things: a readable original, a specific action, a checked date and a way back to the document. In Omnido, you can attach a photo, check the AI’s suggestions and turn them into a task. These four steps also work when you enter the details yourself.

1. Keep a readable original

Photograph the whole letter in good light. Before uploading it, check that the sender, date and deadline are readable. Only upload documents you are allowed to process there; choose a non-confidential letter for your first attempt.

In the web app, choose “Capture”, type something like “What do I need to do with this letter?”, attach the image and choose “Next”. Omnido supports photos and PDFs: up to 10 attachments per capture, each at most 20 MB. Full AI analysis reads up to 10 pages per PDF. The privacy policy explains which contents are sent to AI providers.

2. Name the next action

“Neighbourhood party” describes a topic. “Register for the neighbourhood party” tells you what to do.

Our fictional sample letter asks you to register by 9 October 2026; the party is on 17 October. The task becomes “Register for the neighbourhood party”. Put the details needed for registration in the description. Only include information from the letter or details you have added yourself.

Full AI analysis can suggest a title, description, date and category from the document. Read these suggestions before accepting them. If the action is unclear, check the original and write the title yourself.

3. Check the deadline against the letter

Compare the suggested date with the original: is 9 October the registration deadline or the day of the party? Are the month and year correct? If the letter gives a time, check that too.

In “Check the task”, you can change incorrect details. If the letter has no deadline, a guessed date is not a reliable addition. Either enter your own planned day to act or leave the date empty. The AI can miss text and confuse dates.

4. Accept and reopen the attachment

“Create task” saves the checked task. If you open a capture later from the inbox, the button is called “Accept”. Open the task again and open the attachment. This checks that you can find the registration details when you act on the task. An uploaded letter stays an attachment; you do not need a link back to an email app for it.

Which parts use AI

Reading photos and PDFs requires full AI analysis with a subscription, its trial period or an access grant. You also need to allow AI analysis and have quota available. Without a subscription, you can upload and view attachments; short AI analysis does not read their contents. You can enter the action and deadline yourself. See the scope and terms.

For this process, we tested a neutral sample letter as a PNG in the web app with full AI analysis. This is one product test, not evidence for every kind of letter. It is neither a PDF demo nor a test of the iPhone camera. The test used the German interface; “Aufgabe anlegen” and “Übernehmen” are “Create task” and “Accept” in English.

Start with one of your own letters

Choose a non-confidential letter that gives you a real task. Follow the four steps, then check the deadline and attachment. The Omnido page has the app and browser access.
