Questions and answers
Can I turn an Outlook mail or a Teams message into a task?
Yes. On your Mac, you select the text and open Omnido with the hotkey. The text and the available context, such as the app and the window title, come along, the AI suggests the details, and you accept. “Go to source” opens the exact message with a connected Microsoft account, for Teams a work or school account, and a unique match.
Are tasks from all apps synced automatically?
No. Omnido does not monitor mailboxes or chats. The overview holds the tasks you captured: on your Mac, in the browser, from the iPhone app or through an AI program. Where the capture path delivers a source, Omnido stores it with the task; a capture through Siri or the shortcut “Capture task” has none. Only appointments are synced with a connected Outlook calendar, when you open the app or pull to refresh.
Will I always return to the exact message?
No. “Go to source” opens the best stored way back: depending on the source, the single message, only the chat or the page, only the app, or there is no way back. Omnido finds a specific Outlook or Teams message only with a matching Microsoft account, permission and a unique match.
Do I need Microsoft 365?
No. Capturing, tasks, sources and “Go to source” work without a Microsoft account. The sync with Outlook appointments and finding a specific Outlook or Teams message work only with a connected, matching Microsoft account; with it you also add appointments to Outlook. Teams needs a work or school account; a personal Microsoft account brings calendar and mail. Your organisation may need to approve access.
Which devices does Omnido run on?
On Macs with Apple silicon as a Mac app that updates itself, in the browser, and on iPhone and iPad with the app from the App Store. You create an account when you sign in, with a login code sent by e-mail.
What works without a subscription?
Capturing on every path, tasks with their source and “Go to source”, search, categories, series, reminders, trash and data export. The AI suggests a title and a short description, 30 times a month. Date, category and priority suggestions, and reading photos and PDFs, come only with a subscription. Using Omnido without a subscription is not a trial that runs out: you keep it for good.
Does the AI read my attachments?
With a subscription or during the free trial, yes: the AI reads photos and PDFs, up to 10 pages per PDF, and search finds their text. Without a subscription you upload and view photos and PDFs; the AI does not read them and search does not find their text.
Which data goes to the AI?
Omnido asks you before the first AI analysis.
- Without AI
- Nothing goes to the AI.
- Short analysis (without a subscription)
- Only the typed or selected text of the capture, at most 8,000 characters: no pages, no source, no categories, neither “About me” nor “Learned”, and no other tasks.
- Full analysis (with a subscription or during the free trial)
- The text, pages (photos, PDFs) and source of the capture, plus “About me”, your categories, the names of up to 50 people from your earlier tasks, your answers in “Refine”, for a dictated capture the “Learned” entries whose misheard words appear in it, and, for the duplicate check, the title and description of similar tasks. With the full analysis also up to 5 similar earlier tasks from the last 12 months, done and dropped ones too, with title, status, priority, category, date and repeat, without the description.
- Placeholders
- In both analyses, Omnido replaces phone numbers, IBANs and card numbers with placeholders, except in photos and PDFs Omnido cannot read itself. Omnido replaces e-mail addresses only in the short analysis; in the full one they go along unchanged so the AI can recognise senders.
Who processes the data is in the Privacy policy.
Does Omnido work offline?
Partly. If a capture cannot get through, it waits on the device and goes out as soon as the connection is back. Your task list is not fully usable offline.
Can I export my data or delete my account?
Yes, both under Settings → Account, also without a subscription. “Export data” downloads a ZIP file with all tasks, captures, attachments, categories, “About me” and “Learned”; access keys and sign-in data are not included. “Delete account” deletes everything right away, without a trash. A running Apple subscription does not end with it; you cancel that in the Apple settings.
What does Omnido cost, and what happens after the free trial?
Nothing without a subscription. The subscription is free for 7 days, then €3.90 a month or €39 a year in the euro zone, including VAT; elsewhere the App Store price. The free trial is available once per Apple ID. It turns into the subscription you chose (Monthly or Yearly) unless you cancel it in the Apple settings at least 24 hours before it ends. If you cancel, you go on using Omnido without a subscription, and Omnido deletes nothing. You subscribe in the Omnido app on iPhone or iPad. All prices and what works without a subscription: Pricing.
